About Us

Our platform

We believe nature is not a luxury purchase or a special occasion item, but is essential to every day.  It's powerfully uplifting, balancing, beautiful.  As lifestyles increasingly fail to prioritize time in nature, we must bring nature into the places we spend our time.

We believe when we are regularly surrounded in this wonder and beauty, we become more positive people.  It's in this state that we can truly uplift our communities, going forth into the world as our best selves.

Our founder

Well...when we say "About Us," we're using the word "us" (and, admittedly, "we") optimistically.  MuseFlora is currently a one-woman show, created by Minnesota native Cana Potter- me.

My grandmother grew gladiolas and raspberries in abundance, my mother taught me to arrange the garden's sweet peas for our kitchen table, and when out on my own, I bought flowers each week before I bought food.  I have been a floral designer for 20 years, working in Los Angeles, San Diego, Fargo and Minneapolis.

Presuming I would have my own flower shop once I was nearing retirement, my plan came to fruition a few decades earlier once I realized that no other work I had pursued resonated as deeply as flowers.  I didn't want to waste any more time putting my energy into the wrong thing, and promptly quit a full-time job to realign my priorities.  Combining elements of all my past experiences- including fashion design and theater costuming- my business and my design work stem from an attempt to understand the unique perspective behind my clients' style.

I intend to grow MuseFlora beyond my own capacity.  And, when I do, "we" will be a rousing spectacle of positivity in our community...and, that includes YOU.

Thank you for supporting me in the quest to uplift our community one space at a time.
